All in all, there are 210 guest rooms in Park Hyatt New York, 92 of which are deluxe suites, all with floor-to-ceiling windows. The 90-story One57 tower, the magnificent architecture work of Christian de Portzamparc, holder of the Pritzker Prize, is home to the new hotel, which lies on the first 25 floors of the building. Park Hyatt New York offers some of the most spacious hotel rooms, with the area of 475 square feet for each standard room, and 530 square feet for most of the premier suites. It takes from $795 to $1,295 to spend a night at one of the hotel’s standards.

Katherine Melchior Ray, Vice President of Luxury Brands for Hyatt sees the new opening as a significant milestone for the Park Hyatt brand, giving it the much needed representation in a major market, as well as promoting the brand’s international image. “It introduces a new way of defining and delivering luxury for both guests and locals,” said Melchior Ray. She believes that the contemporary customers also want personalized experience among luxurious accommodations, culinary expertise, and high-quality service; and Park Hyatt New York has the capacity to provide this “through locally authentic relationships and programs that will redefine the standard for luxury in New York City.”

In cooperation with Carnegie Hall, Museum of Modern Art (MoMA), the Central Park Conservancy, Sotheby’s and others, Park Hyatt New York is working in earnest to provide the authentic New York experience, which is culturally inclined, personal to each guest, and completely unique to the new hotel. Valuable artworks from renowned names such as Ellsworth Kelly, Rob Fischer, and Robert Longo, account at 350 pieces, will be displayed at the hotel (10 of these are specifically designed for the new Park Hyatt). Tubereuse 40 bath amenities by Le Labo Fragrances, an exclusively blended fragrance, are provided in Park Hyatt New York guest rooms, which can be found nowhere else in the world.

From its very beginning, Park Hyatt New York was designed with the authentic New York experience in mind, said Walter Brindell, General Manager, Park Hyatt New York and Area Vice President, Park Hyatt Hotels, North America. According to Brindell, this is where Park Hyatt New York shows its unique charms in contrast with other luxury names in the market. “We are absolutely thrilled to be opening in one of the most important cities in the world, and we hope our guests will enjoy their experience here as much as we have enjoyed bringing the Park Hyatt brand to New York,” said Brindell.

Yabu Pushelberg is the genius design powerhouse behind Park Hyatt New York’s interior, which is strongly influenced by Upper East Side homes, one of New York’s most prestigious housing style. The city’s liveliness and dynamic were depicted beautifully through the hotel’s design, which combines signature elements and the modern strokes of contemporary arts and furnishings. Public and personal areas are decorated with artworks and custom-made furniture.

Park Hyatt New York’s dining operation is led by Executive Chef Sebastien Archambault. The operation of the hotel’s restaurant, The Back Room at One57, The Living Room and event rooms all smoothly run under the hands of this esteemed chef and his team. These venues promise to charm not only travelers and guests coming to the hotel, but New Yorkers and food connoisseurs as well. The sleek but welcoming 70-seat Living Room boasts view overlooking to Carnegie Hall and leads to The Back Room at One57, where grilled foods of utmost quality are cooked and served, American-styled. The 96-seat restaurant offers a simple yet flavorful menu with meat, seafood and veggies. From the Blue Duck Tavern at Park Hyatt Washington in Washington, D.C., Chef Sebastien brings fresh breezes to the newly opened Park Hyatt New York.

Another exotic feature of Park Hyatt New York is its Onyx Room, with white onyx covering the high walls of the room. This conference venue can fit 220 diners or 450 standing guests in a comfortable setting. There are also sizable meeting rooms, an executive boardroom with outdoor terrace for guests to utilize.

Focusing on rejuvenation and wellness, the Spa Nalai – a familiar name with Park Hyatt brand names, especially with its International Series seasonal treatment menu – promises to indulge guests in every spa therapy needs. Nalai means “Serenity” in the language of the Lenape people, the indigenous people of Manhattan, and serenity is exactly what is shown through the spa’s healing techniques and beauty rituals. The traditional and innovative elements are blended together harmoniously in these treatments. Spa Nalai’s signature treatment is designed on the foundation of ‘earthing’, meaning the practice of exploiting the energy from the Earth by connecting the body directly to the Earth’s natural surfaces. All treatments of this type are performed on a heated sand quartz bed.

The three-story aerie on the top floor of Park Hyatt New York welcome guests with a steam room, a hydrotherapy hot tub, and an indoor swimming pool, playing calming melodies from the across-the-street Carnegie Hall through its underwater speakers. The fitness center is opened 24/7 and is modernly equipped, fitted for every exercising needs of guests.

Hyatt’s milestone of development

Park Hyatt New York is the newest location in the list of eight properties in Manhattan bearing the name of Hyatt, including Grand Hyatt New York, Andaz Wall Street, Andaz 5th Avenue, Hyatt 48 Lex, Hyatt Union Square, Hyatt Times Square, and Hyatt Place Midtown-South. But apparently this is not the end of it, since two other Hyatt locales, Hyatt House New York/Chelsea and Hyatt Place New York Times Square, are also in their completion stage to be debut soon in the Big Apple.
